We offer full-day programs from infants through to Grade 1. Although we recognize the importance of play, Brant provides a fairly structured environment with an emphasis on the ACADEMIC subjects of language and literacy, basic mathematics, science and technology. All programs include creative arts, drama, and music and movement. Our two year full-day KINDERGARTEN adds computers, Wiz-Tech, French and swimming lessons to its curriculum.

   INFANT AND TODDLER PROGRAM

    

• We emphasize excellent care, the enhancement of language, fine motor skills and physical development.
• We include Sign Language in the children’s program.
• We provide individual care as children develop at different rates during their early years.

   PRE-SCHOOL PROGRAMS (2 ½ - 4 years)

   

• In these programs, we focus on phonics, numbers and numeration, and both fine and gross motor development.
• We begin to incorporate three of our enrichment programs:
  • Roots & Shoots – teaching children care and compassion for the environment, animals and their community
  • French – basic vocabulary and an appreciation of a different language
  • Jr. Wiz-Tech – teaching basic problem-solving by solving different challenges

   TWO YEAR FULL-TIME KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM (4-6 years)

   

• Brant has a reputation in Burlington for its full-time KINDERGARTEN as an alternative to the Board’s JK and SK programs. The Board’s Early Learning Program is "play-based and child-centered; it focuses on oral communication" more than teaching children to read.
• Brant’s program is not play-based (although children will have time to play). It will appeal to parents who want a more structured environment for their child, where the focus is on academics and teaching children to read.
• Our objective is to develop in our students not only the phonetic skills necessary for reading but also the motivation and interest in learning. Our graduates enter Grade 1 as beginner readers, with strong cognitive, personal and social skills required for success during their school years.
