Features:

• Academic Curriculum: Focus on language and literacy, math skills, science and technology and the arts. Brant’s Kindergarten is not “play-based” and “child-directed”, which is the philosophy of the Board’s Full-Time Kindergarten programs.
• Enriched Curriculum: Brant includes but goes far beyond the goals of the Board’s Kindergarten program. In addition to its core subject areas, Brant’s curriculum includes French, computers, Roots & Shoots, Wiz-Tech, swimming lessons, Montessori math activities and more outdoor play than in a Board program.
• Hot lunches and snacks: Ensures healthy eating and saves both time and money for parents.
• One consistent environment: Provides more teacher/contact hours and more teaching time during the school year when compared with a Board program with shorter hours, PD days, holidays, and early dismissals.
• Extended hours: Included in our fees and appreciated by both our parents and children.
• Low Staff/Student Ratio: This is a key reason why our students are successful. We provide one teacher for every 8-10 students versus one teacher for every 13-16 students in a Board program.
• Cost: A Board program is not “free” as many parents believe. Costs can include before and after school, lunches and snacks each day, school supplies, and the cost of PD days, holidays, etc. If a parent requires extended hours, the cost difference between Brant’s Kindergarten and a Board Kindergarten may be relatively small.
